Photo-a-day Jan : Day 31

Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake in January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my family

My gorgeous Lily ...

I love you so much , much more than any words can express. Kind thoughtful and gentle, I love the way you mimic the things I do, the way that you look out for your little brother, and the way you bring sunshine to our lives.

Here you are clutching the doll I made you before you were born, I love that you love her now ... just thinking about it ... my precious girl... your making mummy cry xxx

Thank you to everyone who has watched my January project unfold .. simple daily photos of our lives, hopefully they inspire you to photograph the normal and yet beautiful day to day.

See you back here this time next year !

xx

Photo-a-day Jan : Day 29

Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake in January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my family

Eli you are now in your cot in your cot in your own room , you still come into our bed in the early hours of the morning but the time you spend in with us is decreasing . You are still so small but very insistent that you are a big boy, imitating Lily in every way you can. You are a mini whirlwind in the house , never staying still and always looking for the next thing to do . Extremely defiant but also sweet and affectionate .. I love your kisses , your cuddles and even that very VERY cheeky grin  xx

My little Newborn photographer hard at work .

Lily you want so much to help me during my sessions and I take note of your little hurt face when I tell you you need to stay with Dad, but I love showing you my photos and letting you 'help' clean up , which involves you making little nests from my fabrics and wrapping up your dolls "born babies".

It also involves me re-cleaning the studio once you have gone to bed ... I do love you Missy Moo xx

On our last trip to the markets we bought a tray of mango's ... And I had every intention of eating a large portion of these myself however it turns out that both kids LOVE them and request them for desert after breakfast lunch and dinner!

It has been incredibly hot here!! With today being too hot to go outside I did anything possible to stop the kids ( and myself)  going stir crazy. Water entertainment was a winner for Eli.

Eli is starting to take a real interest in books now and will bring me a book and settle into my lap, he loves books with animals in them ... anything with a dog cow or duck is a favorite.

Photo-a-day Jan : Day 15

Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake in January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my family.

Bath-time bubble fun was not always common place for Eli, for his first 12 months he suffered from Eczema  and it took a very firm hold on our household, we removed any products that could be an irritant, took away foods known to cause problems which included from my diet as I was breastfeeding. Within moments he could cover himself in blood so I slept with him, holding his hands and feet to stop the dreaded scratch, moisturising with Eczema cream multiple times during the day and night. When his itch was bad I would rock him, holding his body tight until he finally fell back to sleep....I was never fully asleep. Car trips were agony and to be avoided where possible. If I turned away he would take the opportunity to scratch ...Constant vigilance was necessary, it affected us all and to see the pain in his eyes and the visible effect on his body broke our hearts. Thankfully shortly after his first birthday it just stopped and we can all finally relax. Every time I look at his beautiful skin I am thankful of this and feel so blessed to have two healthy and happy children. xx

For anyone reading that also has a child suffering from eczema, we found Scratch me not mits to be a lifesaver and moo goo products to be a huge relief for Eli ( And in general also great natural products for kids!).

Photo-a-day Jan : Day11

If you live in Sydney and have never been to the flower markets on centenery drive near homebushdrive, I highly reccomend it as a day trip. To buy something specific you need to arrive really early but if your just looking to fill your house with flowers you can arrive just before it closes at 10, this is also when they start reducing bunches of flowers dramatically ... bunches of roses gerberas and all things beautiful to as low as $1!! so you can quite litterally fill your car. BUT if you do happen to leave a little room the fruit and vegatable markets are right next door and you can pick up some beautiful fresh produce for great prices!

It was craft day at Bunnings today, crown making to be precise which could not be more perfect for our little miss who had to dress up as a princess as soon as she woke up.
I must admit we love taking the kids to Bunnings, Lily can do craft followed by the play gym with Eli while we take turns having a tea/ coffee .... simple pleasures.

My crazies ....my loves

You may note Lily's attire through this project, she dresses herself multiple times a day ( read this as giant loads of washing for me ) and today she felt this dress would benefit from a singlet and tights underneath. x

Photo-a-day 2014 : Day 3

Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake in January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my family.

Having just returned from holidays we have had two very tired and grumpy children, Eli especially so as he has missed out on many of his day sleeps, so it was such a pleasant surprise to find them in this loving embrace... these are the moments that make it all worth while.

Consider mummy's heart melted little munchkins xx

Happiest of new years to you, sweet friends.
As I begin my Photo-a-Day project for the 3rd year in a row,
I began by looking through last year’s photographs.
Smiling over moments past, Remembering what was forgotten.
Grounded, with a grateful and happy heart that my family will have these wonderful moments to treasure.

Looking through I am reminded again how important it is to document the good, the simple, and the importance of the everyday.

To those who  followed this journey last year, welcome back.
And, more importantly, thank you.
Thank you for sharing your love and for your support.

To my new followers, welcome , I hope you enjoy this insight into my little family  and perhaps are even inspired to document your own family in this way.

I am so happy to share our January with you.
Happy days to you all.
x

For new years day we celebrated Christmas with my family at my sisters new home in Waitui NSW , not only were they spoilled with gifts but were able to explore her peaceful new home ... and catch hens !!
