Photo-a-day Jan : Day 15

Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake in January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my family.

Bath-time bubble fun was not always common place for Eli, for his first 12 months he suffered from Eczema  and it took a very firm hold on our household, we removed any products that could be an irritant, took away foods known to cause problems which included from my diet as I was breastfeeding. Within moments he could cover himself in blood so I slept with him, holding his hands and feet to stop the dreaded scratch, moisturising with Eczema cream multiple times during the day and night. When his itch was bad I would rock him, holding his body tight until he finally fell back to sleep....I was never fully asleep. Car trips were agony and to be avoided where possible. If I turned away he would take the opportunity to scratch ...Constant vigilance was necessary, it affected us all and to see the pain in his eyes and the visible effect on his body broke our hearts. Thankfully shortly after his first birthday it just stopped and we can all finally relax. Every time I look at his beautiful skin I am thankful of this and feel so blessed to have two healthy and happy children. xx

For anyone reading that also has a child suffering from eczema, we found Scratch me not mits to be a lifesaver and moo goo products to be a huge relief for Eli ( And in general also great natural products for kids!).
